Great copy of a movie that deserved it`s fate, as a Hollywood bastardization of actual events. Never let the facts get in the way of telling a story, badly.
The absurdity of the final conflict, is that only three people died on each side, during the invasion and the main protagonist, Ella and Jim, were lynched, 3 years before. Way to go Hollywood.

Hollywood actually botched this by cutting nearly two hours off the director's cut, at the behest of US Gov trying to hide the facts, THAT! ruined the movie. When re-released in 2012 re-done by Michael Cimino it was highly acclaimed. Love to get hold of the original 325 min version!!
